Physics Section C : Optical Instruments

Part 2: Information

The Eye

The eye is our optical instrument. It contains a convex lens and it produces a real, inverted and laterally inverted image on its retina. This image is then transported to the seeing part of our brain via the optic nerve. Our brain ‘sees’ the image. If the eye is perfectly healthy but the optic nerve is damaged, the image will not be seen.

A Telescope

This is another optical instrument which uses convex lenses.

A Microscope

This useful, optical  instrument, also uses convex lenses.
