Thermal Physics Measuring Pressure Differences The difference between two pressures can be measured using a manometer. This is simply a "u" shaped tube with some liquid in it.
In the second diagram above, the difference between p1 and p2 is equivalent to the pressure due to hmm of the liquid in the tube. A manometer tells us nothing about the pressures p1 and p2, only the difference between them. |
